Sights & Attractions
Royal Łazienki Museum
A favorite place for Varsovians, the Lazienki is a large complex, including the summer residence of the last king of Poland – Stanisław August Poniatowski, an orangery, an amphitheater, an 18th-century court theatre, the Museum of Hunting and Horseriding, the Myślewicki Palace, numerous free-standing sculptures and a vast park. During summer, the famous Chopin concerts take place here.
Museum of King Jan III’s Palace
The Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów is a true Baroque masterpiece, which has remained untouched by annexations, wars, and occupations. The many stylish sculptures, fountains, charming alleys, a lake, and a cascading stream make the surrounding park a perfect place to unwind from the noise of the city during the summer.
The Royal Route
The Royal Route connects three former residences of Polish rulers: the Royal Castle, Royal Łazienki and Wilanów Palace. It is the city’s most famous route and a must-see. In addition, for the true Warsaw experience, continue your tour by catching a glimpse of the Old Town Square, the Museum of Warsaw, the Old Town Cellars Route, and St. John’s Archcathedral.
Praga District
Praga is a district of Warsaw picturesquely situated on the east bank of the Vistula river. Visit the neo-Gothic cathedral of Saint Michael the Archangel and Saint Florian the Martyr. They offer architectural perfection and unique frescoes. In the Orthodox church of St. Mary Magdalene you can view fragments of the Last Supper mosaic that remain from the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, which used to stand in the center of Warsaw.
Vistula River
The Vistula river crosses Warsaw and offers splendid sceneries.
On the left bank of the river, you can enjoy entertainment, taste delicious dishes or take part in cultural events. The right side of the river is a Natura 2000 area – a natural habitat for endangered bird species.
Palace of Culture and Science
The Palace of Culture and Science is the highest and most recognizable building in Warsaw.
It is a former symbol of the socialist power in the country and a place where conventions of the Polish United Workers’ Party were held. Today is home to theatres, a cinema, museums, trendy pubs, and the main Warsaw Tourist Information office.

The currency in Poland is the złoty (PLN). Złoty is subdivided into 100 groszy.
